It was our 10th birthday! But instead of having a big celebration, we took advantage of our special day to hand our birthday present over to the Solar Energy Foundation. We collected a total of €25,000 as part of our fundraising campaign!
Dr. Harald Schützeichel, Chairman of the
Solar Energy Foundation, is delighted with this amount: "It makes a big difference to our solar projects in East Africa and can help to change peoples' lives for the better there, more than we originally thought. '“ Our donation means that the village of Kasozi, Uganda can now be easily equipped with solar energy and it will allow the project to be completed by the end of January. With the additional funds, we've now jointly decided to electrify a "KOSTAL Solar Village“' in the Jinja region. The planned basic equipment includes a solar home system with two LED lamps and one mobile phone charging facility per house. This lays the foundations for further developing the village and is making life so much easier for the residents.
