PLENTICORE inverter from KOSTAL now compatible with four additional battery storage systems

When installing and expanding PV systems, it is essential for retailers, installers and customers that all components work together perfectly – even when there is a wide range of devices involved.

KOSTAL is continuously expanding its partner network: PLENTICORE G3 inverters are now approved for four additional battery storage systems from ZYC, Varta, Pylontech and Dyness. The Dyness and Pylontech storage systems are already compatible with the PLENTICORE plus and PLENTICORE BI.

The list of battery storage units compatible with KOSTAL inverters has therefore been extended to include several devices from well-known manufacturers. This makes KOSTAL inverters the ideal choice for anyone who wants to combine the highest quality ‘made in Germany’ with maximum power yield, flexibility and safety.

Tip: the battery activation code for the PLENTICORE plus G2 has been permanently reduced. In combination with the affordable KOSTAL Energy Meter, you can get the best price advantage.

Four new battery storage units – a wide selection and maximum flexibility

The four new battery storage units are, in detail, ZYC SIMPO HV, VARTA.wall, Pylontech Force-H3 and Dyness Tower Pro.

Particularly when combined with the PLENTICORE G3, each of the newly added battery storage units forms an efficient and versatile duo for storing the energy generated by the PV system.
This is because, on the one hand, the PLENTICOIN single-purpose voucher makes it possible to activate further power stages in the PLENTICORE G3 and, on the other hand, all battery storage units can be expanded to include additional storage modules.

The PLENTICORE G3 is available in the power classes S, M and L and can be expanded from 4 kW to 7 kW (model S), 8.5 kW to 12.5 kW (model M) and 15 kW to 20 kW (model L).

In combination with the PLENTICORE G3, the battery storage systems offer the following options: The Varta battery storage system can be operated with two (10 kWh) to four modules (20 kWh), while the devices from Pylontech and Dyness can be operated with two (7.7 kWh) to five (19.2 kWh) modules. In the case of ZYC, between two (6.4 kWh) to eight modules (25.6 kWh) are conceivable. The PV system can therefore be adapted to a possibly growing energy and storage demand over the course of its service life.

Convincing performance data

The performance data is impressive. Depending on the number of battery modules and PLENTICORE model, the ZYC SIMPO HV, for example, offers an output of up to 15.4 kW. The charging and discharging current is a maximum of 30 A. The VARTA.wall battery storage system offers up to 10.5 kW at 26 A discharge current. The Pylontech model offers, depending on the version, a discharge power of up to 15.4 kW in combination with the PLENTICORE G3 M and L. And finally, the Dyness Tower Pro battery storage system offers up to 14.4 kW at a discharge current of 30 A.

And when it comes to features, KOSTAL PLENTICORE inverters also leave nothing to be desired, offering intelligent shadow management, a high level of efficiency and common communication interfaces such as a dual LAN connection, WLAN and communication via ModBus TCP or Sunspec. PLENTICORE inverters have an illuminated graphic display for quick information – a true all-rounder.

The PLENTICORE G3 also offers an optional battery-backup function with the KOSTAL BackUp Switch and DC surge protection.

Quick installation thanks to AutoUpdate

Installing the appropriate battery storage systems is particularly easy: the new battery types can be found in the list of compatible storage devices as soon as the next device update is available (G3: from SW version 3.04.00.16312). If KOSTAL AutoUpdate is activated, the software is even automatically installed on the device when it is connected to the Internet.

The new, compatible battery storage units from ZYC, Varta, Pylontech and Dyness: KOSTAL is adding them to its battery partner portfolio, which already includes the successful systems from BYD, Axitec and LG Energy Solution.
